Sacred and Ordinary

Works in response to scripture, contemplation and lived experience

This body of work begins with scripture — carried through long walks, periods of reflection, and the gradual process of forming an image. Rather than illustrating biblical narratives, I consider how their questions and meanings might be expressed through a contemporary visual language.

Working across different mediums, each piece develops through meditation, observation and experimentation. Familiar landscapes, figures, objects and gestures become ways of exploring faith in the present — allowing ancient texts to meet ordinary experience.

Sacred & Ordinary is a search for the sacred not as something distant or monumental, but as something encountered, questioned and contemplated within everyday life.
